MICHELLE AND MARK’S STORY

Michelle and Mark, a couple from Blackpool, decided they needed a dental makeover, as the state of their teeth affected their everyday life. Michelle needed dental bridges and dental crowns replacing. Mark was suffering from dental plaque and that resulted him having almost black teeth, as well as an extensive dental hygienic treatment he also needed dental crowns and bridges.

Michelle loved the idea of taking a dental holiday, going to Hungary for dental treatment, enjoy some of the sights, food and culture, so they trusted Hungarian Dental Travel to organise their trip to the dentist. I HAD MY DENTAL TREATMENTS DONE BY A DENTIST ABROAD

“After visiting two dentists in the UK, I was advised that I would need at least 2 dental implants then possible dental bridge work but quite rightly so they couldn't say anything more until I had x-rays. Whatever, they were talking sums of money that I could not afford. I then heard by chance an advertisement on local radio of a Hungarian dentist visiting Heaton Moor Stockport Greater Manchester.

I and my husband went and I was examined by the Hungarian dentist who said that on first examination he thought that he could fit 2 bridges and no dental implants would be needed. I felt reassured by this diagnosis as dental bridges were obviously cheaper than implants and it would be better for him to sell me a dearer product. However my mind then ran riot and I thought maybe he would say that in Manchester and when I had paid to go to Hungary he would change his mind and once I was there I would have to pay for dental implants or I would have been on a wasted journey.

I have one son who works on the airlines and another son who works for the Marriott hotel chain so I didn’t require flights or accommodation and I am being honest that at the early stages of the whole thing I thought that perhaps that's where they made more money out of the venture. I was wrong on that score too.

We arrived in Hungary very worried and we felt very adventurous even reckless that we had actually got to this place as we are very apprehensive of something new and very worried about money as we have little of it. We were met at the airport and escorted to our hotel and told we would be picked up the following morning. So that also reassured me that Hungarian Dental Travel is an honourable and trustworthy company.

I went in to see the dentist and he was very professional and reassuring. I had a good couple of hours of intensive dental treatment I can’t say I enjoyed it as I hate going to the dentist but I was in no pain and it was only the grinding and drilling that I didn’t like. The Hungarian dentist treated everyone of my top teeth. I was scared as to what I would have looked like touring Hungary probably looking like Jaws but I need not have worried as he fitted a crude mini set of dentures over the top of my exposed teeth and told me to come back in two days.

I was scared to death at the thought of the pain injections wearing off and bought painkillers ready but this was another unnecessary worry. I didn’t take one painkiller. It was amazing. I won't bore you with the rest of my treatment but the end product was a full row of beautiful teeth that I am so proud of.

On leaving the dentist my husband (who always anticipates a problem) and I felt reassured that nothing would go wrong but that there was also a procedure that we could follow.
With regards to the staff at Hungarian Dental Travel that have been brilliant to deal with. Always returning calls when they said they would and answering all questions honestly and openly.

Overall our experience was very successful. I had my treatment by a dentist abroad which ended up costing about one third of the cost that I was quoted here by UK dentists. Plus we had a wonderful 5 days in the beautiful Budapest. A place that I would never have visited because I always thought it would be grey and cold. How wrong I was about lots of things.
