DESTINATIONS

There are several locations in Hungary which seem to major in dentistry. Geographical location is very important as a town may have become a popular destination for dental patients because they are close to the border with Austria or the location may be well serviced by low cost airlines or good rail links.

Here are the top locations for dentistry within Hungary:

Budapest City – The British seem to favour Budapest mainly because low cost airlines have serviced the route well from many major airports in the UK over the years. The capital city also hosts other nationalities including German, Swiss, Italian and US citizens to name but a few.

Nearest Airport – Budapest Ferihegy Airport = 20km / 12 miles

Telki Almost classed as Budapest as it is only 11 miles from the city centre and 45 kilometres from the airport.

Gyor & Mosonmagyarovar – Gyor is the second largest city in Hungary majoring in quality dental care. Mosonmagyarovar is a large town which is densely populated with dental clinics. Most nationalities visit these locations but it is a favourite with British dental patients as low cost airlines service Bratislava airport well. These locations are not that far away from Vienna International airport and often US patients will be seen locally. Budapest airport is a little further away than both Vienna and Bratislava but not impossible.

Each location has its advantages and disadvantages depending on where you are travelling from. These locations are prepared to accept English speaking patients but some clinics are more geared up for this than others.

Although not embraced so much by the English speaking dental tourist, German, Austrian and Swiss patients take advantage of other services as well during their stay. Opticians, Hairdressing and Beautician services are most popular secondary treatments as prices are also very low compared to prices in their home country. it could be a good idea to combine your dental holiday with those little extras and enjoy some pampering!

Most of the dental surgeries have receptionists or customer services staff who can help you find your way around so that you get the most out of your visit. Visiting the local tourist office is always a good idea, picking up some free leaflets and advice on what you can do.

Renting a car could be a good idea, as special offers are always available (best to book on-line) and getting out and about by car is a safe way to explore the countryside.
