Gyor

Gyor is the second largest city in Hungary with a very relaxed city centre atmosphere. Some British and Irish dental patients will come here for treatment by well qualified dentists but it is not as popular as other destinations. Dental patients will mostly fly into Bratislava airport and cross the border into Hungary. Most dental clinics will offer a free airport transfer which will take just over an hour each way.

Gyor is often called the city of Rivers, because it has many of them running through the center, creating a truly unique landscape. The town has a very sophisticated and elegant atmosphere with colorful baroque buildings and ever going festivals. There are magnificent squares and pretty restaurants offering traditional Hungarian and International meals and wine.

The National Theatre of Gyor is also the home of the World famous ballet company, the Gyori Balett, which toured in Europe, Japan, China, India, Russia and the United States.

The spa bath of Gyor is a fun entertainment and relaxing experience for any age, as there are many water features and facilities to keep everybody happy. For single people or older couples the morning hours are probably more suitable, as afternoons and evenings are rather busy.

For the ladies there are plenty of shops, smaller ones in the town centre and a big shopping centre just about 10 minutes walk from the pedestrian street of Baross utca called Arkad Shopping Center. Here you can find world brands, as well as Hungarian produce.

Any time of the year is perfect for a stay, but probably the Winter Festival (starts 4-5 weeks before Christmas) is one of the most popular occasions to visit.

You will find a great deal of hotels both in the town centre and outskirts. If you don’t have your own transportation it is advisable to stay in the centre so that you can enjoy the attractions without the stress of trying to get there.
