Heviz is a very small spa town very close to Lake Balaton. There are a few well equipped dental clinics in the town catering mainly for the German and Austrian dental patient, therefore the most widely spoken foreign language is German followed by English.
This used to be a popular destination with the British dental tourist when Ryanair serviced the route between Stansted Airport and the small local airport. Since Ryanair stopped this route there has been a big decline in British health travelers to the region.
Budapest, Graz and Bratislava airports are a few hours away by car. However, families, especially in the summer would happily choose this location, as there could be so much to do. Some dental surgeries will offer complimentary airport transfers, also considering booking a rented car could be a great idea, especially if you are taking family. But do remember it is a 0% alcohol tolerance in Hungary when driving a car.

There is a small lake in the center of the town, providing warm medicinal thermal water all year long and several hotels, catering for every needs and budget. Lake Balaton, the longest lake in Europe is only a short drive away and a fantastic summer destination with its beaches, restaurants and live entertainment. This is also one the most famous wine regions in Hungary, home of many unique wines. You are welcome to wonder around the hills and pop into the small private wine cellars for tasting and buying, most of them are open all year around.
The location is very quiet during the winter months. The small thermal lake is open and so are the hotels, bars and restaurants which makes this time of the year perfect for those patients who wish for some peace and quiet. It is an ideal time for some pampering to fully rejuvenate during dental their treatment.
