Malev shuts down

On the 3rd of February 2012, 6am after 66 years of operation Malev National Hungarian Airline announced ceasing operation.

After days of heavy speculations the airline informed its passengers at Budapest Airport Ferenc Liszt there will be no flights. There are two Malev air-planes stranded abroad, one in Ireland another one in Tel-Aviv.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated it is not impossible for Hungary to have a National Airline again in the future.
